Section 01 · The partnership

How the partnership works.

Two commitments, in writing. They’re what makes this relationship make sense for both sides.

You found mold behind the wall. You opened the floor and the subfloor was rotted. You shut off a slab leak that had been running long enough to soak the framing. The plumbing fix is yours — what comes next isn’t, and the customer’s about to ask who handles it.

That’s where Instant Restoration comes in, and here’s how we work with plumbers so the relationship makes sense for both sides.

Flat referral fee per converted job.

When a plumber’s referral becomes a paid restoration job, we pay a flat fee — typically $300 per converted job, adjustable based on job size and the depth of the relationship.

Paid promptly after the job closes. No hidden tiers, no clawbacks, no “we’ll see what the margin looks like.”

We don’t compete with your service.

We commit in writing not to upsell your customer on plumbing services, recommend other plumbers, or interfere with the customer’s future plumbing relationship. Your customer stays your customer.

We restore the damage, document the job for insurance, and step out — the next time they need plumbing work, they call you, not someone we tried to introduce them to.

That second commitment is what separates this from a typical referral arrangement. Most restoration companies treat your customer as a future cross-sell opportunity. We treat them as your customer, period.

Section 02 · What we handle

What we handle, so you don’t have to.

When a plumbing job uncovers more damage than the plumbing fix can handle, we take over the rest.

Water damage restoration

Extraction, structural drying, moisture verification, full IICRC S500 documentation.

Mold remediation

Containment, HEPA filtration, removal, antimicrobial treatment, IICRC S520 standards. We don’t test or inspect — that’s a third-party hygienist’s job, which removes the conflict-of-interest issue most plumbers have seen in lazy mold remediators.

Sewage cleanup

Biohazard containment, disinfection, IICRC S500 Category 3 protocols.

Reconstruction

Drywall, framing, flooring, finishes — we hold a CSLB B-General Building Contractor license (#1078518), so we put the wall back, not just remove what was damaged.

Insurance documentation

Every job documented to the standard adjusters require, so the customer’s claim moves forward cleanly.

Your part ends when the plumbing fix is done. Ours starts there and runs through the rebuild.

Section 03 · Why plumbers refer

Why plumbers refer to us.

Six reasons the plumbers we work with keep sending jobs our way — the relationship benefits, not just the credentials.

You don’t lose the customer relationship

Written non-compete commitment. Your future plumbing work is protected.

Fast response

55-minute response target across LA, Ventura, and Orange counties. When your customer is standing in a flooded kitchen, “we’ll be there next week” loses you the job. We pick up the same day.

One license covers everything

CSLB #1078518 B-General Building. We mitigate AND rebuild — no third contractor to coordinate, no scope gaps where things fall through.

Mold remediation only, no testing

Most plumbers have been burned by mold companies that inflate jobs with their own “testing” results. We don’t run a testing department. When clearance testing is needed, an independent third-party hygienist handles it. No conflict of interest.

IICRC documentation on every job

S500 for water & sewage, S520 for mold, S700 for fire & smoke. The standards your customer’s insurance company wants to see.

We pick up the phone

Nights, weekends, holidays. Property damage doesn’t keep business hours, and neither do we.

Section 04 · How to refer

How to refer a job.

Three ways that all work. The first two convert better and protect your referral attribution.

1

Call us with the customer on the line

Fastest, cleanest. We pick up, you make the introduction, we dispatch from the call. The customer never has to figure out who to call next.

2

Call us first, we call them

If you’re mid-job and can’t conference, give us the basics — name, address, what you found — and we’ll reach out immediately.

3

Hand them our card on-site

Slowest path because it relies on the customer making the call themselves. Works, but the first two convert better and protect the referral attribution.

Either way, the referral gets logged with your name when you tell us “this came from [your shop],” and the fee gets paid after the job closes.

Section 06 · Credentials

Why plumbers call us.

The hard credentials behind the relationship. Licensed, certified, and built to satisfy the adjuster on every job.

CSLB #1078518 Licensed contractor

B-General Building Contractor — we mitigate and rebuild under one license.

IICRC Certified S500 / S520 / S700

Water, mold, and sewage protocols documented to industry standard.

HAZ Certified Hazardous materials

Biohazard and contaminated-water handling done to code.

55-min 55-minute response

Response target across LA, Ventura, and Orange counties.

24/7 Live dispatch

A real person answers nights, weekends, and holidays.

Section 07 · FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

The questions plumbers ask before they send us their first job.

Are referral fees legal in California?
Yes. California has no general prohibition on restoration referral fees between licensed contractors. We disclose the fee structure openly, document each referral, and report payments as required. Some plumbing insurance policies have their own restrictions on accepting fees — check your policy. If your insurer bars fee acceptance, the non-compete commitment alone still applies and the relationship works without the fee.
When do I get paid?
After the customer pays the final invoice on the restoration job. Typical timeline is 30–60 days from job close. Paid by check or direct deposit, whichever you prefer.
What if my customer doesn’t go with you?
No referral, no fee owed by either side. The customer’s decision is theirs. We don’t pressure or chase. If they pick another company, that’s the end of it.
Will you try to sell my customer plumbing services?
No. Written commitment. We don’t run a plumbing division and we don’t introduce the customer to other plumbers. If their next plumbing need comes up, the only contact info they have for plumbing is yours.
How fast can you actually arrive?
We hold a 55-minute response target across LA, Ventura, and Orange counties. From our Woodland Hills base, most of the San Fernando Valley, Westside, Pasadena area, and inland north OC is inside that window. Outlying areas may run slightly longer — we’ll give you and the customer an honest ETA when you call.
What if the job ends up being smaller than a typical restoration job?
Small jobs still qualify for the referral fee. We pay on every converted job, not just the big ones. The fee is flat per job, so it weights more on small jobs and less on big ones — which is fair, since the value of a plumber’s referral is the referral itself, not the job size.
